We are more like trees than we realize

Been thinking lately how women, bipoc, queer & trans folx have more in common with trees than we do with Man. Man can put us in our places. Shape us into what they want, cut us down when we grow “too much”. They can determine when and how we pollinate and kill off our offspring if we “overpopulate.” They can sell us off to the highest bidder and wipe out entire forests of us.

And yet here we are, still growing, still sucking in the carbon in the air and the decay in the soil to grow and to breathe life back into the earth. If we stop, the world stops. We hold the power of the earth, and Man holds the chainsaw to our bodies.

Sitting here in solidarity with women, bipoc, queer, trans folx, and Mother Nature herself as our government makes one more decision against our sovereign bodies.
